How important is to measure my childs feet for shoe fitting.
It is vitally important to get your child/children’s feet measured by a fully trained assistant. Clark’s and Start-Rite shoes all come in full and half sizes, as well as a range of width fittings. The assistant will measure the child’s feet for length, girth and width using a foot gauge. They will then inspect the shoe whilst the child is standing. They will be checking the shoe is the correct length, width and girth. The assistant will check that the shoe is not rubbing on the anklebone, and that the shoe fastening is adequate.

The assistant will then ask the child to walk up and down in the shoes to ensure that they do not slip whilst walking.
